Equal Educational Opportunity and Equity in Education mark the existence of a Caring Society. The child's rights to education has been propagated by UNICEF and supported by the Malaysian government policies cited in VISION 2020, PIPP and the Ninth Malaysia Plan. Undeniably children need support to be ready for Primary One or Elementary School. They must enter the primary school with readiness in all domains of development namely social, physical, emotional, academic, intellectual and spiritual. A child with a head start in learning will succeed ahead of others. Moreover with the highly competitive climate in Year One readiness becomes an important issue. Getting ready for Year One is an important socio educational agenda that needs a highly collaborative effort.

    The Web Based Ecological Assessment Model has been developed by Puan Sri Prof Datin Dr Rohaty Mohd Majzub. This Web Based Model is based upon Urie Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Model of Human development comprising of five components namely child, school, home, global, and community readiness.
